Cutting lengthy onboarding time for a smoother hiring process

Implementing an efficient onboarding tool was necessary to fix an outdated and time-consuming onboarding process for our Tech & Consulting client. The existing communication channels created unnecessary back and forth, which added to the candidates' onboarding time and delayed start dates.

To support our customer, we implemented a consistent and efficient process with s proprietary remote onboarding tool, Pontoon ON. Previously, onboarding new workers took nearly six business days, but our automated solution now completes the process in less than one business day.

Reducing risk and avoiding escalations

The existing onboarding process was time-consuming, manual, and inconsistent for both candidates and hiring managers. It led to more requisition escalations, increasing time-to-hire and creating compliance risk. Our goal was to automate tasks, effectively communicate instructions and documentation needs. Ultimately, we aimed for significantly reducing the time-to-start for new hires.

We implemented Pontoon ON to streamline the onboarding process. Since this was a new tool within the programme, we drove adoption through weekly touchpoints with our key stakeholders. This helped with buy-in and early adoption.

The solution expedited the multi-step onboarding process by removing communication bottlenecks and ticking compliance requirements off the list.
